Thanks to organiser Kay, we spent a few hours kayaking up the River Dart in mixed weather with tides assisting and battling against us, but it was thouroughly enjoyable, challenging and such good fun. With some of us surrounded by seaweed, some almost stuck on mud banks, and some doing balancing acts along the beach, whilst searching for firewood or comfort stops, there were no dull moments. Neither were there any glamour moments. Dressed in our kayaking gear with wind ruffling our hair and water ensuring the bounce was gone as it came up from paddles & down from the sky, we travelled up and back down the river, emerging satisfied and still in good spirits. The activity was topped off with a visit to a local cafe and a chat over a welcome hot drink. What could have been a dull day was instead one to remember.Thank you to all members taking part.
